LOOK OF THE WEEK: Marisa Tomei

From My Cousin Vinny to The Wrestler, Marisa Tomei has had an amazing career of iconic films.  I have had the pleasure of working with her for press appearances and love her personal style and her amazingly thick, gorgeous hair!  For the nyc premiere of “Crazy, Stupid, Love” Marisa wore a super chic Vivienne Westwood Red Label dress from the Fall 2011 collection.  Her grey cocktail dress with a cowl neckline was paired with a very sexy pair of Sergio Rossi T-strap sandals.  A mint clutch, loose tumbling curls and David Webb jewels completed her look.

To get these waves, I used a thin 1/2″  half-round flat iron! Start by adding a foundation product, like Aussie’s Aussome Volume Styling Mousse, and loosely blow drying.  Then I wrapped small sections in a spiral motion down the barrel of the half-round flat iron.  Once the entire section was waved, I sprayed some dry shampoo at the root (I Love the old school Psssst brand!), teased the root, and smoothed out with a cream, like Pantene’s Smoothing Balm.  To finish, I tucked one side behind the ear and loosely ran my fingers through for a soft, care-free finish!!  See below for more pics!

LOOK OF THE WEEK: Poppy Montgomery

Poppy Montgomery is a gorgeous new red head!! I styled her hair for her press appearances for the new movie “Magic Beyond Words: The J.K. Rowling Story,” where she stars as Rowling, the writer of Harry Potter!  For her beautiful new red hair and fun, high ponytail Poppy Mongomery has the Look of the Week!  To get this look, follow these simple steps:

1) Create a natural part and loosely blowdry

2) Wave hair by wrapping around a 1″ curling iron

3) Tease roots for height and pull hair up into a high ponytail, aligned with your jaw for the perfect placement

4) Iron bangs down and away from your face for a smooth front

Here is the video of her appearance!

LOOK OF THE WEEK: KATIE CASSIDY

Katie Cassidy wore a gorgeous coral dress by Bec & Bridge and matching heels by Brian Atwood to her screening of “Monte Carlo” AMC Loews Lincoln Square in New York City on June 23.  To compliment the lacey high-necked shape of the dress, we decided to do a rocker-chic pinned up hairstyle.  For Makeup, the amazing Meredith Baraf focused on strong eyes, long lashes, and a glowing cheek.  For this great combination and killer style, Katie has the Look of the Week!

To get this volume and height in the front of the style, start by applying Aussie’s Aussome Volume Mousse to the roots and blow dry upward.  Then set the hair with a small 3/4″ curling iron to create texture in the hair.  To keep the volume, curl and clip the top sections away with 1″ silver clips.  Separate out the sides and start to twist 2 sections by tying in knots (like tying your shoes!) until you reach the ends of the section.  Then twist and secure by criss-crossing bobby pins.

To finalise this look after you have twisted and pinned all the back and sides is to complete the top.  Tease horizantal 1″ sections with a large-toothed comb, apply a smoothing cream to add definition, and twist and pin.  The key here is looking at both profiles in the mirror to get the perfect messy balance.  Pair this with cool earring and an oped-back dress like Katies and you are ready to party!

LOOK OF THE WEEK: WHITNEY PORT

Did you know that June 10th was National Iced Tea Day? Well, Whitney Port did! She celebrated the big day at Schnitzel & Things in New York City with some Snapple Iced Tea. I did her hair in a high bun for the event. I love this look for so many different occasions. Since it pulls the hair away from the face in such a sleek style, it is great for a glamourous night on the town or a fun day celebrating Iced Tea!!

LOOK OF THE WEEK: MAYA RUDOLPH

For the NBC Upfronts, Sarah styled the very lovely, very pregnant Maya Rudolph’s hair. This fall, Rudolph will star in NBC’s Up All Night, as Christina Applegate’s best buddy in a comedy about balancing parenting with work and marriage. With Will Arnett as the baffled dad, it is sure to be a hit….so we can just add it to the list of her successful projects! Rudolph is currently starring in the wildly funny Bridesmaids, which we are dying for!! For the Upfronts, Sarah styled Maya’s hair in sleek, blunt bangs, with a slight bend in her shoulder length locks. Looking absolutely radiant in a knee-length white patterned dress, Maya Rudolph has our Look of the Week!
