EMMY AWARDS: AUGUST 29, 2010

The 62nd annual Emmy Awards, held at the Nokia Theatre in L.A. on August 29th offered us a wealth of gorgeous red carpet hairstyles. Sophia Vergara wowed us so much with her chic dark curls that we awarded her the Look of the Week….but with such a major red carpet event, we couldn’t close the book quite yet. There were a few trends we just adored. From old Hollywood glamour (one of our all-time fave looks) to low, chic ponytails, the focus was on the structured hairstyle for the Emmy Awards red carpet. And with the hot summer sun blaring overhead, it was doubly important to keep all those pesky fly-aways in check! From Heather Morris to Heidi Klum to Tina Fey, there was no shortage of glamourous hairstyles at the 2010 Emmys!

OLD HOLLYWOOD GLAMOUR!

With the deep side part and perfect set, both Eva Amurri and Heather Morris rocked the old Hollywood glamour look! As huge fans of the look, we are always super psyched to see this hairstyle on the red carpet….or anywhere for that matter. A mid-morning Starbucks run, the Saturday afternoon trip to the dry-cleaners…..well, maybe not anywhere, but we do love love love this hairstyle.

SHORT AND STRUCTURED!

Kim Kardashian, Heidi Klum and Eva Longoria looked divine in these short, structured hairstyles at the 2010 Emmys. With the hair lifted at the root and the side, and given a definitive pattern, the up-do takes on an artistic feel, and showcases their gorgeous facial features!

THE CHIC LOW PONYTAIL!

Tina Fey and Julie Benz opted for the chic low ponytail. Fey, with her side swept bangs, looked every bit the antithesis of her 30 rock character Liz Lemon, whom we love! We are counting down the days until we can surrender all those saved 30 Rock episodes from the DVR in favor of the new season! Julie Benz gives a tutorial on how to compliment the one-sleeve dress.
